Founded in 1996 by Niklas Kvarforth, SHINING have now spread their Anti-Humanitarian Gospel for nearly three decades. SHINING could very well be one of the most despised bands in the world, and their agenda, which the band have remained faithful to since day one, is either celebrated or viciously loathed, and it is safe to say that SHINING isn’t really a band meant to survive the current ongoing “cancel culture”, but they always seem to find a way. SHINING is the exact opposite of this new generation of “Black Metal” bands who promote veganism and equality and base their entire ideology and concept on humanism. Well, SHINING, and the at times slightly too much of an outspoken frontman, have always refused to play ball with anyone and therefore are usually either banned or rejected based on interviews gone wrong, criminal convictions and often violent behaviour against whomever is unfortunate enough to cross their paths, instead of the actual music.
Because no matter what rumours are circulating online that usually evolve into frequent witch-hunts, Kvarforth is one of the most talented songwriters and singers alive today. Although, having fired or parted ways with almost 100 members since their debut 7” was released back in 1998, it’s no wonder people judge the band without ever have heard a single song, much less a whole album, and we strongly doubt that they would suddenly change in order to fit in with the rest of the flock. 11 full-lengths, numerous singles, and EP releases, all they have released to date, however, tells another story: Madness truly goes hand in hand with geniality. Some say that the band is cursed, and that’s probably as close to an explanation that either we, the media, or SHINING’s vast and always surprisingly devoted fanbase will ever get. Support The Enemy!
